Frequently Asked Questions
✈️ Booking & Services
What services do you provide?
I can assist with flights, accommodation, tours, cruises, ferries, rail, car hire, transfers, day tours and complete holiday planning, all tailored to you.
Do you only plan travel to Europe and Greece?
Not at all! Europe and especially Greece, are particular passions of mine, but I can help plan holidays to destinations worldwide. I’ve travelled extensively myself and bring plenty of first-hand experience to the planning process.
Do you book solo travellers?
Absolutely. Solo travel is a big part of what I do and something I particularly enjoy. I can help take care of the details so you can head off feeling prepared, confident and excited about your trip.
💰 Planning & Service Fees
Do you charge a service fee?
Yes. I charge a professional planning and service fee for the time, expertise and personalised attention that goes into creating and managing your holiday.
This covers itinerary research and design, recommendations, booking management, supplier coordination and ongoing support before, during and after your trip.
Planning fees:
Simple holiday, 1 destination: $125.00 per booking
Tailored holiday, 2 to 3 destinations: $250.00 per booking
Complex or multi-destination itinerary: From $375.00 per booking
Initial chat: Complimentary
If your trip requires particularly extensive or specialised planning, I’ll always discuss any additional fees with you before commencing.
Can I pay in instalments?
In many cases, yes. Depending on the supplier and booking conditions, you may be able to pay a deposit with the balance due closer to departure. I’ll explain the payment schedule and options available for your particular bookings.
📑 Flights, Insurance & other travel details
Can you book flights only?
Absolutely. For a straightforward flight from A to B however, I may suggest that booking directly with the airline is the most cost-effective option, particularly if you’re using airline points or rewards.
Where I arrange your flights, a professional booking fee applies. This covers the time involved in researching and booking your flights, as well as my assistance should changes or issues arise with your booking.
Flight-only booking fees are generally $100 per person for domestic travel and $150 per person for international travel.
I’m always happy to talk you through the options so you can decide which approach suits you best.
Do you organise travel insurance?
Yes, and I strongly recommend considering travel insurance for your trip.
I work with Cover-More and can help arrange a policy based on the options available for your destination and type of holiday. I also use Cover-More for my own travels.
As with any insurance, it’s important to consider your individual circumstances and read the relevant PDS to make sure the cover is appropriate for you.
Do you arrange group or family travel?
Yes. From family holidays and celebrations to trips with friends and small groups, I can bring all the different elements together while taking everyone's needs into consideration.
Solo Female Group Tours?
Absolutely. If you'd love to travel solo but prefer the companionship and structure of a group, I can recommend female-focused and small-group tours to suit your travel style, interests and budget.
🏨 Can you offer Hotel Perks?
Depending on the hotel, rate and booking, I may be able to access additional benefits such as breakfast, room upgrades, hotel or resort credits, early check-in and late check-out. Benefits vary by property and are always subject to availability, but I’ll let you know when something special is available.
🌏 Why Plan With Me?
Why use a Travel Advisor instead of planning everything myself?
Because planning a great holiday takes time.
I take care of the research, logistics and countless little details that go into bringing a trip together. You also have one point of contact who knows your itinerary rather than having to deal with multiple suppliers yourself.
And because I travel extensively myself, I bring first-hand experience and practical knowledge to the planning process, not just what can be found in a brochure or online.
What happens if something goes wrong while I’m away?
This is when having a Travel Advisor can really make a difference.
If something goes wrong with a booking I’ve arranged, I can assist and liaise with the relevant airlines, hotels, tour operators and other suppliers on your behalf, rather than leaving you to navigate everything alone.
🗓️ Practicalities
How far in advance should I book my trip?
For Europe during peak season, I recommend starting around 9 to 12 months ahead, particularly if you have specific hotels, cruises, tours or destinations in mind.
That doesn't mean a wonderful holiday can't be arranged at shorter notice though. If you've left things a little later, we'll work with the best options available.
Do you help with visas?
Yes. I can provide information about visa requirements for your destination and point you towards the appropriate official application process.
Visa requirements and approval ultimately rest with the relevant government authorities, so I always recommend allowing plenty of time before departure.
